Munich-based Rock&Jazz Choir VoicesInTime was founded in 1996 by Stefan Kalmer. What began as a musical project of ambitious singers soon developed into an internationally acclaimed a-cappella choir. First concerts in Munich were followed by appearances in Germany and abroad. Workshops with external jazz professionals accompany the development of the choir's profile.

Classifying the group in a musical genre is difficult as VoicesInTime manages to present a particularly diverse and entertaining repertoire to its audience. Not only the obligatory Jazz- and a-cappella standards, but also musical versions of poems by Goethe and Shakespeare and cover versions from Rammstein to Stevie Wonder are part of their performance. The large variety of styles is provided by compositions of Stefan Kalmer and complemented by works of European choir conductors like Thierry Lalo (France) and Jens Johansen (Denmark).

The singers come from a musical background as diverse as the repertoire. The blend of professional jazz singers, experienced music teachers and passionate voices makes up the choir's identity. Different musical formations within the choir performing independently reflect this fact.

With their unique style and music performed in various languages, VoicesInTime has traveled from Bavaria to the Baltic Sea, Slovenia, Austria and the Netherlands, competing in contests and performing at international choir festivals. With the long-awaited first prize at the 2006 German National Choir Competition, taking place every four years, their continuous efforts have again been rewarded.
